My Top 3 Luxury Handsoap for the Home – Crabtree & Evelyn, Bayliss & Harding, Molton Brown
If you want to keep you home looking stylish then the little touches make all the difference. If you can’t afford Italian sofas and your kitchen is more Ikea than Poggenpohl then little affordable luxuries can really help you feel more princess than pauper.
I’ve picked just three. All for different reasons; one feels more contemporary, one more traditional and one is a budget luxury option, so all bases should be covered. What they all have in common though is their Britishness, the beauty of the packaging, which is half the battle and they all come up trumps with the quality of their respective products.
Crabtree & Evelyn: A quintessentially British brand founded in 1972, over forty years ago as a small family business specialising in fine soaps, draws inspiration from the home apothecary or ‘still room’ as it was called- a room where flowers, herbs and fruits from the garden or orchard were distilled to make fragrant waters for the skin and bath. Today the brand keeps its string relationship with the garden. My top picks along with their matching Moisturising Hand Therapy Creams are Rosewater, Lily and Citron and Honey and Coriander.
Molton Brown: A London-based institution since 1973, Molton Brown sources rare ingredients from around the world and blends these in London into exotic brightly coloured, boldly-fragranced products with a hint of eccentricity about them. Found in Spas and luxury hotels around the world, they are unmissable. Molton Brown has become a truly iconic luxury brand. They also have a separate range for the men! My top picks, again with moisturisers are Rhubarb and Rose, Rok Radish and Basil and Pomegranate and Ginger. Breathe in…..
Bayliss and Harding is my final choice for the affordable luxury category. Another home-grown brand, started in the sixties by a couple dedicated to bringing quality, style and luxury into an affordable price bracket. Named after their grandmothers, Bayliss and Harding was born. Prices are truly affordable. My favourites are Wild Rose and Raspberry, French Lavender and Sweet Mandarin and Grapefruit.
