Todays the day for 3/D/4D scan part 2. DVD imminently!

September 12, 2011 by admin

Mirror Maze

Just a quick catch-up really, ahead of our visit back to Cocoon4D to complete filming of ‘Baby Pregnantcitygirl-The Movie’. I’m very excited and can’t wait to see what Baby is up to today, or as the case may be, to see if, at least, Baby Pregnantcitygirl is feeling like filming! Although we were only there last week, it’s brilliant seeing the baby. It is moving more and more at the moment, to the extent that you can now see my tummy move rather than just feel the kicks when you touch my stomach. Only 10 weeks to go and counting. I’m desperate to meet my baby and desperate to know whether it’s a boy or a girl. The suspense is killing me! Continue Reading

10 minutes ’til potatoes and this time last year I would have been buying ING shares…

August 3, 2011 by admin

or Socgen or Dexia or maybe Lloyds. Selling some BNP Paribas or Barclays.  Actually, I probably would have been on my way down to get a bacon sandwich, possibly hungover having worked solidly since waking up at 5.30, leaving home at 5.45 and arriving in the office by 6.30. I would have digested the news, the overnight markets, the stories relating to the stocks that my clients hold and would have sat through a morning meeting consisting of analysts; some good, some bad, some boringly useless talking about corporate news (although to be fair the most useless never even manage to get themselves prepared to speak at morning meeting, credit to those who do!). I’ve got 10 minutes before the potatoes for the potato salad for our BBQ tonight are ready, now probably 8. You can’t burn boiled potatoes though, luckily! Continue Reading

Can I have a minute your time, please?

July 29, 2011 by admin

So, it all boils down to money;  my misery over the last couple of days – maybe not misery, that’s a bit strong but I’m finding it hard to get motivated to do much and I’m feeling very guilty for doing nothing and yet I don’t know what I can do which doesn’t involve spending money  that I’m still waiting (indefinitely?) to be paid. Can anyone empathize? I’m not used to not working for one. I’ve worked ever since university. At my desk at 6.30am ( I’m a morning person luckily or at least I was before I decided that there was nothing to get up for and of course let’s not forget that I’m pregnant so I’m grabbing( guiltily) a bit more sleep I suppose). I do have those Petit Bateau babygrows to list on EBay you may remember me mentioning. They are still sitting in the spare room/ nursery-to-be in carefully folded in their carrier bags. I might attempt it today! I would like to make a bit of money from them. That’s why I bought them. Help towards my Stokke stuffed nursery! Trust me to fall for the nicest and most expensive ( well at least certainly not the cheapest) .But have you seen their stuff? The cot (Sleepi as it is so named) can be used up until baby is 10 years old so really it’s good value, I tell myself. The reviews I have read are glowing too saying that its worth every penny. Who would’ve thought…

June 6, 2011 by admin

Who would’ve thought, this time last year, for example, that I’d be sitting here, nearly 16 weeks pregnant today? 25 weeks to go! I’m ill. Have been for the last 5 days. It started off as lunch for 14 ( 6 of whom were toddlers-not my scene) at Pizza Express on the Birthday BBQ Sunday. Yes, I got my wish (a bit strong but still), the weather was miserable so the BBQ for 40 had to be called off and a more civilized Birthday Lunch for 4 at Caprice attended on the day (Bank Holiday monday) instead – I’d like to point out that they have put their prices up too, how very dare they!! Anyway, the shock of the Pizza Experience (my best friend had offered to bring a camera to take a picture of my face during the experience) coupled together with having friends to stay who were all to a smaller or larger extent cold-ridden have left poor pregnant one suffering with no respite from any medicine. Not even paracetamol. My GP assured me that i could take it, I know it’s deemed safe, however a few Danish studies ( they are always Scandinavian !) link paracetamol to undescended testicles ( http://www.thebabywebsite.com/article.2418.Is_Paracetamol_Safe_in_Pregnancy.htm)  Even our local pharmacist ,who we know well, recommended not taking paracetamol ‘ because I care, don’t take anything’. So with the intention of being a superb mother, I am playing the martyr! Continue Reading
