Mothercare launches an App and it’s Mega-useful too!

December 18, 2012 by admin

Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited along to the UK launch of Mothercare’s long-awaited App and what a pleasure it was. Hosted, by the too-yummy-for-mummy Myeleene Klass at the swanky Charlotte Street Hotel.  I would have been foolish to turn down the invite. That said, me being one of the 74% of mums who ‘agree that they would be lost without their smartphones’,  I am always interested in the technology arena, especially if it’s more than a simple shopping opportunity! Becoming a mum is a wonderful experience because you can celebrate the arrival of a beautiful bundle of joy but the experts at Johnson understand that it can change your body. A Waddle through The Baby Show at Earls Court this coming Weekend

October 27, 2011 by admin

http://pregnantcitygirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/The-Baby-Show-Earls-Court-2011_Full-Logo_RGB.jpg
So, with very little time to go and only the last few bits and pieces to buy, myself and Mr Pregnantcitygirl are going to visit the Baby Show this weekend at Earls Court to see what we have missed, lust after things that we do not have and probably do not need and generally immerse ourselves in all things ‘baby’ (and parents!). It’s a day out for me and I’m really looking forward to it. Gone are the days of long boozy lunches and hello instead to nesting, learning about new things and buying alien goods! I know that I am going to be like a kid in a candystore. Its the biggest Baby Show in the UK packed full with everything and anything for new and expectant parents all under one roof. Free advice from the experts and every thinkable brand (300 of them!) at cheap, cheap prices, free samples and special deals. I’m too late for the maternity fashion but on the lookout for feeding tops so looking forward to the fashion shows. On the downside not looking forward to spending even more money (a baby is so bloody expensive!) but the way I look at it is it’s not what we are spending but what we are saving! Check it out here http://www.thebabyshow.co.uk/ Continue Reading

I can’t feel my bottom! (and my eyesight is failing)

September 14, 2011 by admin

Oh god! Where to start today? I have million of things going through my head, some of which I am happy to share, others which I am not so. I’m alone again today so you know what that means; immature mummy-to-be Pregnantcitygirl is lonely and bored (‘don’t use that word, it’s a horrible word!’). I’m watching ‘This Morning’ (what a load of old rubbish) and sitting in bed (again) my bottom becoming increasingly numb the longer I sit here laptop fittingly perched on  my lap! Continue Reading

Football – you either hate it or you hate it!

September 10, 2011 by admin

This, at least, is how I felt about five hours ago when my husband left for ‘hours’ to go to bloody football and leave me all alone, bored, at home, nothing to do. Sounds like I’m an invalid doesn’t it or perhaps a small child incapable of amusing myself and you’d be right if you were thinking the latter because I am almost as bad at entertaining myself as a small child is. Can’t be left alone. Get bored quickly. Not grown up enough to enjoy my own company or grown up enough to make the decision to go out and enjoy the company of others. No! I prefer to get annoyed, moan and shout;’you are always going to football and leaving me here on my own with nothing to do. I’m here all week doing nothing and now I’m stuck here again,’ is something along the lines of how it goes. I’m somewhat of an exaggerator too because my husband works from home so I’m rarely alone, it’s just that weekend days are times than I don’t feel guilty getting him to go out and do something other than work. Gone are the weekends where, hungover, I’d be happy, no grateful,  to lie in bed all day watching the latest HBO series on my laptop, episode after episode! Anyway, I bloody well dragged myself out to the place where every grown-up goes to pass the time; to Mummy’s! Along the way I even popped into see my Booba (grandma) to drop her in the leftovers of the plum tarte tatin whose pan had cruelly burnt my husband’s hand (believe me when he picked it up just after I’d brought it out of the oven I felt the pain too. It was horribly upsetting-3 hours in A & E, a superficial wound-dressing later and we were are all ok again). Continue Reading
