The 3 Little Pigs with Simon Webbe, Palace Theatre

August 19, 2015 by admin

We have just returned from a very successful day out to see the latest Stiles and Drew production of the classic 3 Little Pigs at the Palace Theatre. With Drew’s story aimed at adults and children alike, some really fun and funky tunes provided by Stiles, impressive choreography by Ewan Jones and a pretty good set by Jason Denvir, there is something for everyone. A smattering of jokes for the grown-ups and kids – the pigs are named Bar, Bee and Q, for example, the fifty minute extravaganza flew by. Continue Reading

Which Laptop? – A Novice’s View! HP Envy.

December 1, 2014 by admin

I’d never really had my own computer. Not a personal one anyway. I had a veritable ‘tech cave’ at work with eight screens and three keyboards for a desk, yes, but nothing at home. When you spend your life at work, your workstation is all you need! Leaving the office for the bar/pub/ restaurant, only to return by 6.30am the next day left little wiggle room in between. When it did I was perma-glued to my Blackberry for work and used my IPhone for minimal play. Continue Reading

Aliens Love Underpants Live – A Review. Theatre for Kids and Adults Alike

August 19, 2014 by admin

It’s been a great summer for theatre if you’re a toddler. First there was the most enchanting Elephantom and now the West End summer run of Aliens Love Underpants. Taking my nearly three-year old to see this wonderful adaptation from the much-loved children’s story book by Claire Freedman at the Leicester Square theatre proved to be a brilliant day out not just for the little ones but for the adults too. Luxury Swimming with Toddlers – When the local Swimming Baths Just Don’t Cut It.

July 23, 2014 by admin

It’s taken me a while to write this one as I haven’t been a good girl! Alexander is now two and a half and he absolutely loves the water. I know, he can now jump in alone with armbands on. He does that when we go away on trips where we are lucky enough to have private pools. I don’t do mass market swimming. I have a slight flaw in my psyche! Call it borderline OCD. I have memories of visits to local swimbaths – Copthall for one and Swiss Cottage another (before the big refurb) that have left me mentally scarred for life! I don’t like wet floors and bare feet, I don’t like hairs on wet floors and a new one that has reared its head, I don’t like pools with (many) other people in them . I just start to imagine no end of things floating in the water. Ridiculous, I know. That’s what chlorine is for, saner people point out. Continue Reading

Top Toys for all Year Round – A Playhouse

December 13, 2013 by admin

It’s time for another post for the little ones. We have just been through a month of big present buying in our family: Alexander turned two in November and of course there’s Chanukah and/or Christmas. As you may know from previous posts, I am quite careful about what toddler PCG gets; both money and space are limited! So, a lot of thought goes into each and every item. Of course most gifts from us to Alexander are toys. What toddler wants a new pair of jeans or a shirt or a pair of socks? No, ours neither unfortunately! Continue Reading
