The time has come for another brand watch and this time it’s for the home.  I am a sucker for fashion, beauty and travel and sometimes an item for the home fulfils all those elements in one go. Designer bed linen is my subject for today!

Fashion for the bedroom or more precisely the bed is something that is close to my heart. I spend as much time as possible in my bed and love it very much!  The first thing that you generally see when you enter a bedroom is the bed and the clothing that it wears is also a fashion statement.  The easiest way to update your bedroom  is by changing your bedlinen. Good quality and clever design is what I look for. Something that lasts, feels good and looks good after umpteen washes.

As for most of us these days, with little time to mooch around shops (my two and a half year old makes it an almost impossibility!) shopping is done on the internet; at home from the comfort of my aforementioned bed!

So, where better to go that to a shop that ‘does what it says on the tin’?  Designer Bed Linen is an online retailer of all goodies bedroom. Backed by a large UK textile supplier, they have their own licensed brands with the top end Nimbus and Night Owl being house brands. Despite shopping online though, I still expect exemplary customer service; if you were going to Harrods to buy your bedlinen you would get it, so why not online? And that is what I really like about this company. Their reviews speak for themselves.

We already own a Nimbus duvet cover so I went for a Margo Selby one this time. I particularly like muted colours and neutral shades, using pattern as my feature and there are loads to choose from.  Margo Selby is a designer who has been developing her own fabric constructions on Jacquard handlooms since her days at Chelsea College of Art and Design.  She is recognised as a pioneer within contemporary textiles. Her designs are fabulous and the fabrics are luxurious, perfect to dress a bed and to update a room. 100% cotton and 180 thread count; you can’t go wrong. I love and have the Orbital Neutral duvet. It looks stunning up against our black feature wall. That said, for the colour enthusiasts there is a huge choice too. Most important to know is that whatever you choose, the quality is a given, the customer service second-to-none and the choice offers something for everyone  (with taste!). Maybe it’s about time you updated your bedroom for spring?
